Nein, Metallica geben sich nicht damit zufrieden „nur“ als Headliner auf den größten Festivals der Welt zu spielen. Da muss schon ein eigenes Festival her. Am 23. & 24. Juni 2012 findet erstmalig das Metallicafestival „Orion Music + More“ in Atlantic City, USA statt.
Metallica wird an beiden Tagen den Headliner geben – ist natürlich praktisch. Und dazu gibt es 22 handverlesene Bands von Arctic Monkeys bis Avenged Sevenfold.
Vorher dürfen sich Besucher des Nova Rock Festivals, Rock am Ring und Rock im Park auf die Metalgiganten freuen. Die sind gerade dabei ihr neues Album fertig zu stellen, das laut Band wie eine Heavy-Fortsetzung ihres berüchtigten „Black Albums“ klingt. Ein 3D Kinofilm ist derzeit auch in Arbeit.

Headlining both nights, Metallica will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the ‚Black Album‘ by playing it in its entirety on one night AND all of ‚Ride the Lightning‘ for the first time ever on the other night! This will be the only North American performances of these albums in 2012.
