Seit heute ist das Best-Of-Album von Billy Talent mit dem schlichten Titel „HITS“ im Handel in Deutschland erhältlich und passend zum Release-Day könnt ihr euch den neuen Song „Chasing The Sun“, der ebenfalls auf der Platte enthalten ist, schon im Stream anhören.
„HITS“ umfässt insgesamt 14 Songs, darunter 12, die den Werdegang der Kanadier aufzeigen und zwei brandneue Tracks. Ersteren, der sich „Kingdom Of Zod“ nennt, bekamen die Fans bereits beim Vorbestellen des Albums als Download vorab und alle anderen fanden ihn Anfang Oktober im Stream. Der zweite neue Song, der sich „Chasing The Sun“ nennt, feierte nun seine Premiere auf CBC Music.

„I can honestly say that ‚Chasing the Sun‘ was one of the hardest songs we’ve ever written. We had a very close and dear friend of ours pass away suddenly and tragically, which shattered us as band. We’ve never been so devastated. When something like that happens, you end up questioning everything around you and your own mortality and the fragility of life. When you lose somebody you care so deeply about, you end up questioning if you’re living your life to the fullest, which is where Ian — being the amazing songwriter that he is — decided to channel that energy into song. We’ve never done a more or less acoustic song but everything around it felt right. We hope people appreciate it and use it as motivation that if you love someone, to let them know and to also know that tomorrow isn’t guaranteed — it’s a privilege, and to make the most of every single day.“
